Over the summer I became a fan of Gretchen Rubin’s work. I’ve listened to two of her books: Life in Five Senses and The Four Tendencies. I’ll probably end up listening to her other book as well, The Happiness Project. In any case, in my deep dive on all things Gretchen Rubin, I came across this article she wrote last year on sparking creativity.
In it she details the multiple ways that she finds her creativity. Ideas for inspiration. I thought it was a fitting topic for this post.
How do YOU find YOUR creativity?
Where do YOU find creativity?
To use her word: What sparks YOUR creativity?
Much like Gretchen Rubin, I find creativity everywhere. I find inspiration everywhere. Since most of my writing and my art stems from either experiences I’ve had or things I find; going outside is at the heart of sparking my creativity.
Something as simple as taking a walk around the block can lead to all sorts of creative ideas. From a pretty plant/tree/flower that I walk by, to an interesting mark left on the ground, to an overheard conversation or the passing clouds above. It is all open for interpretation and taking my own creative spin on it.
So take a moment to think of what sparks YOUR creativity. And in how Gretchen Rubin ends her post— sparking creativity is different for everyone.
Yours in Creativity,
Bridgitte
